IS YOUR SALAD GETTING FAT ???

Have you heard people saying , I am eating lots of salad but not losing weight ??? Let's go a little pass the greens and veggies in the salad. The important question here is....WHAT IS THE DRESSING ? If the answer is a rich creamy liquid , that may be the problem.
What a lot o people don't realize is that some salad dressing have equal or more calories and fat than a juicy hamburger.

2 tbsp of caesar dressing = 17 g of fat
120 g of hamburger = 17 g of fat

What is the point of keeping yourself from eating a more substantial meal and have more fat in your salad plate? Yes, the green and veggies do count and a lot. We need them every day ! So what is my suggestion? It's simple. Dress your salad with a low calorie, low fat dressing. One example : Vinegar and Oil ! Yum. Items that you can buy easily.
My favorite is Balsamic vinegar , but there are a lot of different options out there (red, white, rice etc..) All very low in calories and no fat!!!!!!!
When it comes to oil I prefer Organic Extra Virgin Olive oil , it does contain fat (but is the good type).
I am not going to say all salad dressing are fat, there are some good ones out there. So next time look in nutrition content, if there is too much fat, calories, sugar or  ingredients that doesn't look familiar you may not want to eat that, it goes not just for the dressing but the other ingredients you may put in the salad too. Because in the end a healthy salad will give you the nutrients , minerals, fiber and antioxidants for a healthy balance life.
